My Five Favorite Things About Majestic Colonial Resort in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic

I never thought I would be one of those people who insistently talked about her vacation…but here I am.

(Spoiler Alert: I do not care. L O L! I had an amazing time.)

I recently vacationed at the Majestic Colonial Resort in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic and fell in love with the place, the people and the culture. So much so that I am already planning my trip back.

I thought I would write down my five favorite things about staying at the Majestic Colonial Resort in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic in case you were thinking about taking a trip there.

My Top 5 Favorite Things

Favorite #1: The Staff

The staff at the Majestic Colonial Resort is the main reason why I loved this location. Every staff member/employee (from the maintenance crew to the wait staff) were friendly and welcoming. They all had a smile on their face. We were always greeted with a “Buenos Días”, “Buenas Tardes”, “Buenas Noches”, or a “¿Cómo estás?”.

A HUGE SHOUTOUT to the Animation Team. I aspire to have their energy level as well as their love for their job. It shows in all of the Zumba classes they hold at the pool and even when they are bringing out guests to the dance floor. They are legitimately the life of the party.

Favorite #2: The Activities

One of the reasons why my mom was hesitant to go on a “resort vacation” was because she did not want to feel trapped in a place with very little to do. Boy was she wrong. Every day (throughout the entire day) there were a variety of activities to do. They had activities from water aerobics/Zumba to darts to pole dancing in the water to yoga/pilates to beach parties and karaoke nights. There was always something happening at the resort to keep you entertained in case you did not want to (or could not) do any outside excursions.

Favorite #3: The Location/Grounds

The resort is S T U N N I N G!!!!!! All of the pictures you have seen on Trip Advisor, Booking.com, Facebook, Instagram, etc., are real. It looks exactly like that in person…actually, it looks even better. The grounds are maintained extremely well. There was not a speck of garbage/litter of any kind on the floor. Empty glasses/food plates were always picked up (and with a quickness – anywhere from 5 to 10 seconds). The view of the beach is stunning during the day and night. Even the lobby was grandiose and elegant.

Favorite #4: Food and Drink

One of the things that I loved is the amount of places you can go to get a meal. The food is very “resort-like” so if you want to get authentic Dominican food, I am not sure if this is the place for you. Since I have authentic Dominican food all the time, the food selection here was not that big a deal for me.

The drinks were amazing. I highly recommend getting a Bahama Mama. It was so yummy and literally screams “TROPICAL ISLAND!!”.

Bahama Mama – So D E L I C I O U S!

Beside the Bahama Mama, most of my drinks went around one ingredient – Chinola (also known as parcha or passion fruit). I live, breathe and dream chinola everything. I had a chinola daiquiri, a chinola mojito and a chinola margarita (just to name a few). You can also get some Mamajuana shots, if you want more of an authentic Dominican experience.

Favorite #5: The Amenities

One of the things I liked was the amenities. The room was big and it was always stocked. Items it was stocked with were toiletries, liquor, water and even a robe and slippers.

They had a spa on site in case you wanted to add another relaxing element to your vacation.

They also had a casino (filled with slot machines) and tables. I wish I could tell you what tables but to be honest, I know zero about gambling.

And for people who love to work out, they also had a gym that you could use. Got to get those G A I N S (even on vacation).

If you were thinking about booking a stay at the Majestic Colonial but was not sure, I hope this was helpful for you. If you have any questions about the resort or my experience, leave them in the comments down below. 🙂
